As Bruno Munari says: structure is the balance of many forces. The human eye is indeed capable of recognizing lines and surfaces that make up the single drawing. But it is only with colors that such shapes become meaningful; light is amplified and exalted by both transparences and irradiant surfaces, finding unexpected space. Also from the 60’s and the 70’s is the search for interiors filled with light and colors. The most innovative aspect is, though, to present bright and luminous mosaic decors, not just a copy of what has been used and seen before, but a new and modern art, an art that reflects the actual way of living and how today’s people see Design. All of that and much more, the incredible artistic and artisan content, an incredible added value to whoever is able to recognize beauty and uniqueness. Interior space has here a new sense and form.

It has been the famous 60’s and 70’s to definitely launch Design on the International scene. These years have seen incredible turmoil and many changes. Thanks to the youth’s need for globalization, a new social conscience was born and, with this, the desire for a better world, more permissiveness, and an incredible progress in mass communication. At the same time, new design Magazines dictated the newest trends on fine art, way of living and design in general.

Along with them, Design Schools were born, that especially during the 70’s, did focus on transforming philosophies and new ways of life into objects, furniture and decorations. Famous artists explored the venue of Design, and many Designers that of artistic furniture. Design Magazines were also the ones to divulgate the pure geometrical shapes and the logic of Design typical of the northern European countries influenced by the Japanese aesthetic. The Space Era that introduced the concept of Futurism and Modular Design also gave a vast and rich font of inspiration. Fabric, wallpaper, and decors in general, they all represented dynamic and unit theme with strong primary

Le strutture altro non sono che un equilibrio di forze dice Bruno Munari. E il nostro occhio con facilità rintraccia linee e piani di collegamento che compongono i singoli disegni. L’incontro con il colore per questi moduli è fondamentale: la luce viene amplificata ed esaltata sia dalle trasparenze che dalle superfici iridate, trova spazi inattesi. E la ricerca di interni ricchi di luce e pieni di colore è un’altra caratteristica ripresa dagli anni ’60 -’70. La grande novità sta nel proporre decori luminosi e lucenti in forma di mosaico: non più una rivisitazione del passato, ma un’arte nuova, moderna, attuale che risponde in pieno alle scelte decorative dei nuovi stili di vita. Con una valenza in più. L’alto contenuto artistico e artigianale che ogni superficie di mosaico porta in se, un contenuto importante che diventa patrimonio di tutti coloro che sanno apprezzare l’unico, il bello. Gli interni degli spazi abitativi prendono così nuova forma e nuova luce.

Sono stati gli anni ‘60 e ‘70 a consacrare il Design sulla scena internazionale. Questi due decenni, caratterizzati da grandi trasformazioni dettate dalla forza globalizzante dei movimenti giovanili, hanno proposto una nuova coscienza sociale, la voglia di un mondo migliore, il permissivismo, un gran balzo in avanti nei processi della comunicazione di massa e la ricerca di nuovi stili di vita non legati alla città, ma casual, sono le spinte che operarono i cambiamenti in questi due decenni.

E naturalmente, nascono moltissime riviste che propagano le ultime idee sul design, le arti decorative, i più recenti modi di vivere. Parallelamente, soprattutto negli anni ’70, si organizzano moltissime scuole di design e movimenti che sperimentarono i nuovi stili di vita traducendoli in mobili, oggetti, decorazioni. E molti artisti famosi si misero a fare Design, mentre molti Designers progettarono mobili artistici. Attraverso le riviste si scopre il rigore geometrico e la purezza logica del design del nord Europa, sempre influenzato dall’estetica giapponese. Una ricca fonte di ispirazione fu l’era spaziale che sviluppò i concetti futuristi e modulari. Nascono così tessuti, carte da parati, decori che propongono motivi componibili e dinamici a tinte forti con colori primari.

Innanzitutto la scelta del vetro, un elemento naturale, sicuro, che può circondare a trecentosessanta gradi un ambiente e farlo respirare, perchè lo espande, lo apre. Poi i decori: forme lineari e antropomorfiche che s’intrecciano in un susseguirsi infinito di linee, cerchi, tratti, curve. Con una precisa caratteristica: i decori così progettati allargano visivamente gli spazi che ricoprono. E infine il colore con tonalità decise, attualissime, solari o intime che giocano in contrasto o tono su tono. La perfetta decorazione di uno spazio abitativo nasce dall’incontro tra la collezione Glass 3 e tinte unite ricche di tonalità particolari. Il mosaico a decori può essere utilizzato in interni a pavimento o a parete, di volta in volta verrà abbinato ad una

tinta unita che lo completa? Forse. Ma per uno spazio particolare l’effetto ottico creato da tutte le superfici trattate con Glass 3 creano un effetto ottico molto potente e ricco di personalità. Interni unici, ricchi di prestigio, attualissimi e futuribili, prendono forma per essere realizzazioni importanti con combinazioni irripetibili ed esclusive, una nuova forma d’arte destinata a chi se ne intende. “Per me l’arte è sempre contemporanea: non è qualcosa che si esaurisce periodicamente, non ha nulla a che fare con il tempo.” Diceva Richter.

È da questi elementi che parte la forza compositiva della collezione Glass 3 che riprende in forma di mosaico i grafismi in voga in quegli anni. La materia è il vetro e la luce che lo attraversa. Trasparente o opaco il vetro compone, attraverso il gioco dei colori, strutture rigorose geometriche che si intersecano e si compenetrano, si rincorrono in moduli uguali, ma sempre diversi con un effetto creativo di tipo caleidoscopico. È il risultato dell’incontro tra ordine e disordine che crea le forme base della collezione Glass 3 .

Resembling shawls ornated with the “Trencadis” technique invented by Gaudì, these new decorations reflect the period of “Catalan Modernism”, where nature is not to be copied but understood and reinterpreted. The whole collection is made of embossed elements made of ceramic enameled in gold or platinum, almost creating in each panel an authentic calligraphic preciousness. The designs, with extraordinary, unpredictable and dreamlike yet elemental graphics shapes, use neutral glass-based mosaics and three-dimensional ceramics to enlighten and embellish any environment they are devoted to with top-notch schemes and modes. Ricordano idealmente dei foulard lavorati con la tecnica del “Trencadis”, alla maniera di Gaudì, questi nuovi decori che ci ripropongono le linee guida del “Modernismo Catalano”, dove la natura non va copiata ma capita e reinterpretata. Tutta la collezione si pregna di elementi a rilievo realizzati in ceramica smaltata con oro o platino quasi a creare in ogni pannello, delle autentiche preziosità calligrafiche. Così, i disegni con forme straordinarie, imprevedibili e oniriche nella loro grafica elementare, utilizzano mosaici vitrei a base neutra e ceramiche in rilievo per illuminare ed impreziosire qualsiasi ambiente a cui sono dedicati con un’attualità fuori dagli schemi e dalle mode.
